My Verdict
This is the third and final installment of the Powers Series.
Prior to reading this book, you should check out Ordinary and Unique.
I am generally not a fan of books that tell the same story we have already heard but from another perspective. I decided to give this one a read anyway though.
The story in (Extra)Ordinary runs parallel with the original duology. Seeing what went down from her side, gives the story a whole another dimension and understanding of her character, though. In addition to that, there are several scenes in the last third of the novel that the reader is not aware happened because the character, whose point of view the first two books were told from, was not present in these scenes.
The book is filled with lots of action and fighting (explored from a new perspective). The decision to include Bianca’s perspective in an entire novel helped to really tie all three books together and give the series a good solid ending, but it was repetitive at times.
The biggest issue I had with the book was one of editing. I am not sure if the print book has the same issues, but the e-book through Kindle Unlimited had many editing/grammatical errors that were distracting as a reader.
I did enjoy this book, just not in quite the same way as the first two. I give this one 3.5 stars.
