About Me
My name is Angela and I am a book addict. I spent 28 years as a high school teacher, 18 of those teaching English Language Arts. I retired in June 2022 and the first thing I discovered was how much time I now had to read. The last 5 months that I was teaching, I read 12 books and I thought that was pretty darn good. The final 7 months of the year, though, I read 82 books. Here is what I realized. When I was a kid I never stopped reading. I took books -- yes, multiples -- with me everywhere. I read under my covers at night with a flashlight long after bedtime. I hid books behind my social studies book and read when I should have been listening to the teacher. As a retiree with time on my hands my addiction returned with a vengeance.

First, I want to say that I do not use the term addiction likely. As someone addicted to alcohol, I can tell you that reading is the healthiest of all my addictions (alcohol, shopping, food, etc) It is, however, a compulsion for me and one that I will not apologize for. I love disappearing into the world of books. In books, I can travel to other places and experience life as other people. It is an escape from the mundane and from the stress of everyday life. In this blog I hope to share my love for books and all things related to books. I especially love psychological thrillers, rom-com, and memoirs so you can expect to see plenty regarding those genres. I am always open to other genres, though, so if there is something you think I should read, I would love to hear about it.

OK...Let's get reading!!
